Through Tubing Cutter
The 2‐blade thru‐tubing hydraulic cutter is designed to go through small restrictions and cut larger ID tubing. The cutters are design to be used on coil tubing with mud motors, or on standard threaded pipe strings. The blades are activated by applying hydraulic pressure in the coiled tubing or threaded pipe string. This pressure moves an internal piston down the tool which extends the blades out for cutting. The blades are tipped with carbide inserts for reliable cuts. Once the pressure is relieved the blades can retract back inside the tool for easy removal from the hole.
The cutter requires approximately 100‐200 psi differential pressure across the tool to open the blades. The tool is designed to allow fluid to flow over the blades to remove cuttings. Once cutting is complete and pump pressure is shut off, the blades can retract back into the body.
